This is who I am. I am a person who thinks highly of myself but others will never know because I am humble, not because I am better than others, have more knowledge or materialistic things, but because I know my worth.. And that is why I chose this picture (hint: the crown). I am loud, energetic, blunt and spunky but I try to hide that side from people because they take my kindness for weakness.
Cindy Sherman expresses herself by doing something that she liked to do, dressing up in costumes. She did not do it to get a political uproar out of society, nor did she do it to leave a message behind it, she did it because she was fascinated with it.
When we visited Janis Maschucci's art exhibit, she spoke to us and said she used the artwork to express herself and her alter ego's. Janis used her artwork to interpret how she seen herself while Cindy Sherman did it because it was something she liked to do. Cindy Sherman's paintings did not have an intentional message behind it, while some of Janis Maschucci's work did.
These two artist has made me realize that even though a picture might now have a intentional meaning behind it you can always make one for yourself, there is no right or wrong, and always do something that brings out the best in you!!
